Security Notice: Fraudulent Domain Renewal Phone Calls
Published by Matt on January 25th, 2016
We have received reports that scammers are using our company name in fraudulent phone calls to our clients. The scammers are contacting clients using information that is publicly available on the Internet via a whois search and seem to be contacting clients who have domains close to their renewal dates.
The scammers are attempting to pressure clients into providing credit card details to renew their domain name for an exorbitant fee. They are claiming that the client’s website will go offline today unless a payment is made. Our team will never ask for your credit card details in a phone call; we will instead direct clients to spiralhosting.com to make all payments. You can also contact us to make payment to our billing department, however we will not contact you via phone to obtain payment unless instructed to do so.
We are actively seeking to stop these calls and are in touch with the relevant security services to ensure these calls stop.
Clients concerned about any phone call should hang up and contact us via our website contact form on our homepage or by phone for clarification:
