This is how the DataVault² Online Backup System Works
At a predetermined time, DataVault²'s client online backup system "activates", determines which files need backing up, and what kind of backup (Full or Incremental) is scheduled for that night.
It then compresses those files into archives 65% to 85% of the original file sizes. These archives are then encrypted using an encryption key known only to you.
After your files are compressed and encrypted, DataVault²'s Client Online Backup Software activates your modem or network connection and sends your encrypted files offsite to our storage facility.
Your critical data files are verified for integrity before sending, while being sent and again after reaching our data storage network. This ensures that the data sent and the data stored on our server network are an exact match.
After your backup is sent to our server and verified, your computer system returns to Idling state, once again "hiding" until the next backup time. An encrypted copy of your critical data files are now safely offsite in our secure data storage facility.
